1) Kayak

Kayak is an easy-to-use travel booking service that allows you to find, compare and book thousands of flights, hotels and rental cars.

It uses Google Maps so you can see exactly where each hotel is located. Kayak is a great way to secure hotel rooms in advance without having to pay any booking fees. Just make sure you’re not doing business on your company’s dime!

2) TripAdvisor

A trip advisor is an app that will help you find travel information, such as restaurants and attractions, in a specific city. Use TripAdvisor to plan a trip before you even leave your house. This way, you’ll get a feel for what to expect when you arrive at your destination—and can be more efficient with your time while you’re there.

One of our favorite features of TripAdvisor is its ability to map out attractions and restaurants around you using Google Maps technology.

3) Airbnb

If you’re looking for somewhere to stay in a foreign city, Airbnb is a great way to find accommodation from local hosts. With 2.5 million listings in over 190 countries, there’s bound to be something available.

It’s also cheaper than staying at a hotel and gives you an opportunity to meet locals and get some insider tips on what to do while visiting.

Be sure to check out their website before your trip as they often have special deals on places that aren’t listed on their app.

4) Hipmunk

One of our favorite travel apps of all time, Hipmunk provides a great airfare search engine and an easy-to-use interface that can make planning your next vacation easier than ever.

Use it to find flights you’re interested in, save those searches for later, and compare them side by side to see which one is more within your budget.

5) Skyscanner

This app is an amazing way to find cheap flights around the world. Just type in your departure city and your destination, and it will pull up tons of deals from a variety of different airlines. Skyscanner will even give you a list of alternative flight options if one flight gets cancelled or delayed.

This app is a great way to find those last-minute flights that are cheaper than what you’d get on Kayak or Expedia. I use it all of time!

6) Google Flights

Google Flights tracks flight prices, letting you know when it’s worth booking a flight. If you’re eyeing a trip to Europe next month but prices are high, Google Flights will send you notifications when prices start dropping so you can snap up that cheap ticket and save some dough.

7) SeatGuru

Let’s face it—flying sucks. No matter how nice your airplane is, you’re still trapped in a metal tube for hours at a time. But there are ways to make flying better: sleep masks, noise-canceling headphones, legroom extenders.

8) CityMaps2Go

If you’re travelling somewhere, it can be difficult to find a map that has all of your location needs. CityMaps2Go allows you to pre-download maps onto your device so you always have access to an offline map.

For example, if you’re travelling abroad and don’t want to pay expensive roaming fees on Google Maps, CityMaps2Go will allow you to download a city’s map and use it with GPS to get directions.
