Beaches in and around Pattaya

So what’s there to do when you are not in bed? The answer is plenty. For starters, how about taking a walk along one of our stunning beaches? Just north of town, Pattaya Sai Kaew, Jomtien Beach, Jomtien Complex Beaches, and Chol Buri Beaches offer plenty to see and do. In fact, these beaches are some of Thailand’s finest.

If you like to swim or snorkel, you’ll be treated to views you never imagined as colorful fish swimming by coral reefs that tower above you. And if it happens to be low tide (highly recommended), even more beautiful treasures await your discovery beneath a blanket of sand.

Feel like getting wet? No problem. There are several water sports operators who can take care of that for you with jet skis, banana boats and parasailing on hand. If exercise is more your thing, feel free to play beach volleyball or rent a bike from any number of shops located nearby. Imagine a bustling city built beside a wide stretch of golden sand; an exciting urban center with lots to see and do, including a host of shopping opportunities.

Well, if you can picture something like that then you have some idea what Pattaya is like when compared to some other more typical coastal resorts in Southeast Asia. With great amenities but without many tourists, it’s very different from anywhere else on offer here in Thailand.

Where to eat

Shopping is one of my favorite activities in any new place I visit. It allows me to learn about a city’s culture and history. In addition, I get to engage with local vendors and shopkeepers who are knowledgeable about their products. Plus, it’s often cheaper to buy souvenirs on location than anywhere else.

Here are a few places where you can buy memorabilia from your travels

Where to shop

Located on Pattaya’s Jomtien Beach, Bali House is a small, modern shopping center with a range of shops selling everything from authentic Thai fabric to clothing and souvenirs.

The small center has a very local feel to it; you’ll most likely hear some music playing as you walk around, see locals using ATMs at their banks, or buy something at one of several food vendors that surround it. There are also plenty of hotels nearby so if you have some time before or after your shopping trip, be sure to check out your lodging options.

You won’t be disappointed—the city really does offer something for everyone.
